Bowel problems
There is a significant increase in the number of people who are suffering from constipation, irritable bowel syndrome and other diseases of the colon/bowel areas.
Many of us are not aware of the many different ways in which congestion in this region can trigger off other ailments such as toxic headaches, bloatedness, cramps, lethargy, haemorrhoids, skin problems, eczema, psoriasis, candida, diarrhoea, depression, and a whole host of other problems.
By cleansing the colon of impacted and putrificative faecal matter, colon hydrotherapy offers relief from a variety of disturbances, including those mentioned above.

The colon
The colon has three main functions:
- The final digestion of food
- The elimination of digestive residue of food we have eaten
- The discharge of toxins and wastes from the body
We can experience better health and well being when the colon is clean and functioning normally. When the colon is congested with stagnant wastes, poisons back up into our systems and pollute the inner environment. This is called autotoxaemia – literally ‘self-poisoning’. There are many contributing factors to autotoxaemia from the toxic bowel. Improper diet, insufficient exercise, stress, overeating and ignoring the ‘calls of nature’ can all lead to bowel problems.
People on relatively good diet and who have regular bowel movements can also have old hardening accumulations of mucoid deposits that hinder proper elimination and need periodic cleansing.
We should experience two or three easy bowel movements per day, which should be soft in consistency and float. When eliminating one should not have to force, strain or experience any pain whatsoever.
Correct function of the colon is a necessity for health, for truly ‘disease can begin in the colon’. It has been said that colon malfunction can lead to 80% of all diseased states.

Frequently asked questions
How does Colonic Irrigation (CI) work?
CI is a gentle process, where your modesty is preserved at all times. A small speculum is inserted into the rectum, which does not hurt and is sterilised to hospital standards.
Two tubes are attached on the outside of the speculum, one in which passes filtered, luke warm water into the colon, small amounts at a time. The other tube is where all the waste matter is comes out straight into a waste pipe so that there is no smell, leakage or exposure.
The water gently breaks down impact faecal matter and helps to flush out toxins. Often the waste is so hard and well lodged in the colon that it may take a series of colonics to sufficiently soften and loosen it. The number of treatments will always vary with the individual and his/her condition.

Is Colonic Irrigation safe?
Yes. Countless thousands of colonic treatments have been given safety. The equipment is sterilised to hospital standards. The sterilisation solution kills all previous bacteria, viruses and fungi in minutes.
Water is pre-filtered and the pressure is very low so there is no danger of bowel perforation.
Unlike regular use of laxatives, Colonic Irrigation is not habit forming and in fact improves colon muscle tone. |

Will Colonic Irrigation damage the normal Intestinal Flora?
No, one of the functions of the first half of the colon is to gather the intestinal flora needed for the colon.
When the accumulation of faeces in the bowel leads to faecal encrustation, it is difficult for the colon to function normally and the glands normally in the lining cannot produce the necessary intestinal flora.
The resulting lack of lubrication intensives a state of constipation and generates toxaemia. This upsets the normal acid/alkaline balance and the growth of the friendly bacteria is stunted.
Cleansing the colon will help bring the acid/alkaline back into balance. In this environment the friendly bacteria will again thrive, the disease causing the bacteria will find it more difficult to develop.
Are there any circumstances when Colonic Treatment cannot be performed?
Yes. Conditions such as active infections, active inflammations, such as diverticulitis, crohns disease, ulcerative colitis, a painful bleeding fissure or painful bleeding haemorroids mean treatment cannot be comfortably carried out until they are healed or in remission.
